Those are sauteed apple slices on top of homemade Chestnut Soup that a dear friend made for us to celebrate a late Christmas together. She cooked the chestnuts for 3 days , simmering and adding flavors. A Supper of the Lamb lunch by my friend who cooked for us in that book club discussion. We had Bavarian Apple Torte plus a homemade mocha to top it off. YUM....wish you could have joined us!
