Took Time..........

To sit with our neighbors back from
a week in Ohio and had a cuppa of tea!
They brought us corn fresh from the field
on Thursday in Amish county. YUM!
So what are you eating this weekend?

Good book from Wendell Berry out
as a response to the slow food movement.
His essays on Farming and Food ~~ bits
from his fiction:

Bringing It to the Table: On Farming and Food

Hi Bonnie - that looks like a good book. Have you read it yet?

I'm still up here taking care of Erin and family. Today I've cooked meatloaf for the first time in my life! Mainly vegetarian me is always happy to cook something that my very special son-in-law likes. Hope he likes this one. I've also made a massive batch of gingersnaps today, per Erin's request. We'll eat more pesto from basil in Erin's garden, salads with her abundant cherry tomatoes and I'll probably bake bread again. I'm away from my big mixer and am enjoying getting back to kneading smaller batches of homemade bread by hand.

Hope all's well with you and yours. Hope we can have a cuppa together sometime this fall!

I've been looking at your cute granddaughter on your blog! Oh what fun to be cooking and holding Clara!

I've skimmed through the essays which are put together from his other books. Now all in one place of the best. I'm trying to see what they mean to me who doesn't live on a farm! I know about gardens and food supplies, but what is a deeper worldview change I need to make to understand what he sees and has written about for years.
